Sea buckthorn brandy is produced by macerating sea buckthorn fruit in extra-fine grain alcohol, followed by distillation of the macerate. It is therefore a so-called drawn distillate. It has a distinct flavour and aroma that ranges from slightly bitter to sweet. The fruits of the sea buckthorn tree are exceptional for the amount of vitamins they contain. For production, only those fruits that remained on the bush after the first frosts are used.
